Having 6 sets of dies does not mean that you strike six coins at once. The presses could handle ONE die pair at a time.

Doodatt, Where did you get this information? It sounds like what you have read somewhere is that the SF Mint received 6 die marriages, which means that they received 6 obverse dies and 6 reverse dies for use in 1870. It has nothing to do with how many coins can be pressed at a single instance.
