They arrived yesterday. Finally got around to pulling them all out and had a quick sort by type. I will admit I was a bit overwhelmed at the amount of notes when I opened it up. It was shipped as pictured, notes jammed full in a shoe box. The wrappers were something someone did to wrap up similar notes. Unfortunately some notes are ruined because the adhesive on the wrappers, but that's very minor considering the volume here. Probably several thousands notes as an estimate. Here's a just a sample of most of the notes.

Looks like early inflation notes all used and not in bank bundles. Could be booty brought back by returning WWII soldiers. My mom was a teen when the American army occupied her home. She and her siblings had old banknotes and coins which they used as play money. The first troops grabbed all that money and played craps with it!

I see you also have some nice high grade Imperial era notes! On the unc notes watch out for consecutive serial numbers which are good to keep together.

Really nice pickup. I love sorting out big lots like this. Wonder if their is any Notgeld in their? I am just starting to get into that.
