I work in CASINO and have opened THOUSANDS of rolls. Sometimes find silvers but this one was by far the brightest. I got a tip and made change and dropped it without even looking at the date. When I later saw the 1971 date I knew what it was. I am very excited!

We used to have 50 cent chips but the chips cost 70 cents to make so we switched to half dollars years ago.

1971 is not silver,it is clad. You can weight it and do the tissue test.

Honestly at the risk of crushing my dreams I would have guessed it was 90% and not 40% silver. Would that change things?

Nope. That's the weight of a normal clad half. Why do you think it could be silver?
