Farnchez Introduction

Hello I'd would like to introduce myself. My name is David username is Farnchez. I'm in Austin Tx and I collect balisongs and recently I semi inherited a small collection Of coins that belonged to my great grandfather & grandfather. I have Morgan's around 7 and about 20 Peace dollars along with some coins from Australia,Mexico,Netherlands,and UK along with what I believe are some civil war relics and things. I don't know if the majority is from my grandfather or great grandfather nonetheless they are mine now and I'd like to know what I have. My grandfather always told me never trust a coin dealer and I'm not sure why. So I recently became a member at NGC I heard graders are not allowed to collect,but,sell,or trade. Idk what grade my coins are! that's why NGC is in business right? So my plan is to send them in under earlier bird and see what happens. I'm rambling and I really don't know if this is the right way to introduce myself.
