Is This A 1869/69 Indian Head FS-303 1c MS Error?

Here are the pictures. I would be interested to know what information you gain from the full pics that help you determine if it is an error coin vice the close-up. Always learning. Thanks!

It's not an error, FS-303 is a variety of the 1869 Indian Head cent. It's a RPD (Repunched Date) variety to be specific.

If it was repunched into the master die, then all working dies would have the repunch. If it was repunched on a working die, then all coins struck from that die would have the repunching. (The mint has changed processes several times, and which digits appear on the master and which are punched into the working die changes)

To be that variety, your coin must match EXACTLY, not close or similar or the 6 is repunched but not the 9, etc.

If you go to the listing above, and zoom in, you can clearly see the 6 and the 9 have "ghosts" behind them, "North" of the primary digits. If you only have the 9, it's not RPD-301.

I have to say, I don't see it the 6 looks like damage.

I too say not a good error coin. I don't see a 9/9 at all.
