Except, one cannot ignore the very large, bold red letters at the bottom of the listing...

SPP, there are ways around it. Just need a EU or German address.(perhaps a friend?) And, an email to the vendor or a phone call (+ 9hrs) often helps. This is not to mean to circumvent MA shops.

MA-Shops is owned by one individual and his wife in Germany And they speak English (as most dealers there do). Years ago they had the idea of providing a selling platform for coins (and later stamps and alkohol). they invited Dealers to sell via the MA shop platform. However, these approved dealers must adhere to a very strict regiment of rules. All billing goes through Ma shops checkout but each dealer makes his own deal of which MA shop gets a % commission. Depending on a dealers volume, there is a 3-monthly fee to be paid. I have done business there for many years without issues. Always good. Currently I believe there are more than 400 qualified dealers registered with MA shop to sell their stuff. The honor system is predominant with the owners and dealers, as MA trusts the dealers to pay a commission even when sales are often outside the platform, but connections were made through it. But remember, each dealer is abso;lutely on his own and can wheel and deal as he wishes... so, if any questions are arising, send these directly to the dealers through the link on the site. They also have now representation in the USA and dealers from many countries have been approved.

Factoring in the exchange rate you are looking at more than $1000 for a coin that has no gloss, looks cleaned and not correctly graded at VF. Looks more like VG-EF. It is not "reasonably" priced; at most $800 Cdn,

1948 $1 ICCS XF 45 paid $950 in 2011.... One thing about ordering 'overseas' is that it really comes over in a boat.....I ordered something from GB on July 20th and it spent 3 weeks crossing the Atlantic, and now is in quarantine awaiting customs clearance. Or at least that's why I hope it has spent 10 days in Burnaby undelivered.

comparing 2020 prices with 1911 prices is not exactly an indicator. we all "could have " bought cheaper key date coins in 1911! and... some of us did. Shipping time depends always on how much you are willing to pay. Usually my stuff takes anywhere from 4 days to 12 days, including customs. If declared properly there is usually only 1 day needed for clearance. so not what everyone wants to say how long it took! and mail in BBY does not sit around there. once gone to BBY from the centre in Vancouver, it is at YOUR pick up post office for you to pick up.And mail is not quarantained UNLESS some bad stuff is evident! How do you know it is in BBY?

Everyone wants too much money for lousy looking 1948 Dollars these days . Seen some gawd awful schlock lately in the 1500 to 2000 CAD range . As stated in MANY previous threads The 1948 is hardly rare and is simply a money ( as in takes lots of money to buy it ) coin . That said finding an MS64 or better 1948 is a real challenge . In fact a properly Graded MS64 or better set of Dollars from 1935 to 1967 is tough .

Quote: MoneyPenny, all I have to say is this: simply find one for $800!! And then let us know with a picture. If you look hard enough you can one for $800. But not through ebay or online dealers. They are way overpriced. You can find lower priced coins at coin shows or better yet, auctions. On May 4, 2020, the Canadian Numismatic Company, sold a 1948 VF dollar for $750 before buyers fee. After fees, the final price of $892.50 is still considerably lower than the coin you showed. The auction coin looks better than your listed coin and most importantly, graded.
