1985 D Washington Quarter - Lamination Error Or PMD

Hi all. Not sure what to think of this, thought it was just a coin damaged from impact, maybe with another coin, though I found it interesting that the 'crack' doesn't extend to the 'C' in 'America', ending exactly where the wing ends on the right.

Coin is a 1985 D Washington quarter.
