Hello,
Can you help identify this coin , it appears like a byzantine follis but not exactly the same as if it was struck on another coin ?!
What do you think?

Interesting coin that I'm not sure what it is. It appears Byzantine as you say over struck on another coin. It might be Bulgarian their coins can look similar to Byzantine.

Weight is not mentioned, but it sort of resembles an assarion of Andronicus II and Michael IX. (the variety with the half-length image St. Andronicus on the obverse, and Andronicus II and Michael IX on the reverse) Neat overstrike.

I don't know how I missed that, I have really gotten bad. Time to chuck it in. It's a match for Sear #2417 Andronicus II and Michael IX.

2417 Andronicus II and Michael IX is a Trachy. Maybe it's an ancient or modern imitation.
