Is it artificial toning, or corrosion, or just natural causes. I don't know where I initially got it from but I recently found it in my collection and am curious as to yall's thoughts on what happened with this coin.

Agree, second guess would be acid treatment. Either way, little value in this state.

Maybe corroded and then harshly cleaned? Whatever the reason it's a cull coin now.

It is definitely corroded, so it's a damaged coin, but the toning may be natural. It doesn't much matter, I suppose.
