Under what circumstances should I prefer PCGS to the others, NGC to the others, ANACS to the others, etc.? For example, are their types of coins for which one company is better than the others? Does condition matter? For example, suppose I have an AU/BU slider. Would I be ahead to send it one company over another (presumably because that one tends to choose the higher grade)? I'm basically just trying to get a better understanding of the grading landscape, so any advice will be appreciated.

PCGS for higher selling price,ANACS if it is for your own collection. I think I read that each has its' own specialties?

Every TPG has there strengths/ weaknesses and pros/cons. For me there's a number of variables as to which I send to, and it changes. I would recommend checking out the TPG section of the forum. You'll very much find there no right or wrong, just opinions ( at least with the top 3).

I think PCGS and NGC have the best international reputations. Certainly, non Americans are more familiar with these two.

I prefer PCGS but I'll buy NGC or ANACS ( I like them alot !lol ). ANACS is good if you don't want commitment (lol) . They have memberships as well as NGC.
Does this all make sense ? Good. Where was I ?

First and foremost is it a coin that should be sent in for grading. Low value coins are not your best bet to send in. As for the merits of what grading company brings more value to a coin. I think that is too subjective a topic since that is simply peoples opinion based on what their experience has been. There are coins in any of the 3 TPG's you mention that can be found selling higher or lower than others at some point in time.

100%. Good read to see how others experiences have been and many opinions to be found.
