This was the second of two of my most recent purchases. What do think ICCS gave as a grade? How would you grade it? I'll post ICCS' grade in a few days.   |

Coin seems to have had picture taken under plastic - the images are a little soft.
If that is the case, some of those of what appear to be small nicks may just be dust particles on the plastic.
The striking seems to be a little soft anyway, but the luster appears to be largely undisturbed, some scuffing of the luster showing up on the high points of the design, both sides. Slight scuffing of the luster on the reverse field. Light rim dent reverse.
If this coin pictured under plastic, then
MS-64, and I will assume at least some of those marks are on the plastic.
If this coin pictured directly, then
MS-62 or 3. but a light strike, something like the Australian 1942 Melbourne Mint threepence obverse.

1939 Dollars are notorious for being poorly struck ,
especially the obverse . Finding one with with fully
Struck dentils is extremely difficult . A really picky
Collector will look through many until they find the right
MS65 with fully struck details .
The OP looks like a typical 63 , with little eye appeal.

mathman based on a guess from your pictures, I would say 62. everyone's guesses could be drastically changed if you could post pictures which are not over exposed and show details of the complete coin. there is way too much light coming in from one side in your images. I know it is difficult to take images of coins inside ISSC slips. but it can be done. it just takes a few minutes longer. But, the results will be amazing! Tip: take close ups of all coins you send to any TPG and keep these. |

Sel_69l: The photo of the coin was indeed taken under plastic. I don't plan on removing it from its ICCS holder (I bought it that way; I did not buy it raw and send it to ICCS).
47P7: The coin was hard to photograph because it is actually quite lustrous in hand. I tried taking new photos with tress light exposure, but my photography skills are amateurish, and now my internet/browser/computer is being finicky this afternoon so I might not be able to post the photos until later.

Plastic is electrostatic, and will attract dust particles, much like a magnet.
