As far as I know everybody's order that went through says "backorder." They haven't been shipped yet, maybe sometime this month or later. If your's just went from "processing" to "backorder" I assume that's good.

My understanding is that US coins must be minted during the same year as the date on them. If these coins don't get minted in 2021 then there will be some big problems. Could the whole 2021 just get cancelled? The employees don't care. The mint director likely doesn't care. Or could a very small number get minted and released creating a modern day rarity? No reason given as to the delay to my knowledge, they just don't care.

Sounds flexible to me, I tried to look up the rules, basically I see this littered everywhere: "inscription of the year of minting or issuance". If issuance refers to the authorization of the product, then it would seem to me they could mint them whenever, up to the limit.

Just a guess, but I believe they have been minted and just need to be packaged and/or shipped to fulfillment.

The mint merely said they'd begin shipping in October. They never said when the last one would ship. And I don't believe the mint promised any specific buyer that they'd get theirs in October. I expect a few sparks will fly between ebay sellers and buyers, as most of the sellers claimed they'd ship to their buyers in October. I'd like to be a fly on the wall for some of those back and forth communications!

Yes, BEGIN shipping in Oct. That could change due to Covid, shipping slowdown, etc. Of course I'd like them sooner. But I wouldn't be surprised if it extends into Nov. or Dec.

October has 31 days. They can start shipping in two weeks.
