BoSox....that is a serious Victorian cent collection.
I collect PL dollars. You can get "the best ever graded" of some nice dates for a few $K. In the US, it cost more to get a 1995-W silver dollar of which there are 30,000+ extant. I like collecting in Canada much more. It is fun like it was in the US 40 years ago.

Well I would have to say all of them.. Ok My best is the half dollars.. They are by far the hardest series to aquire in high grade. It took me a long time but most of my Vickies are EF or better, and the Edwards AU or better and of course the Georges are the same... After that then I'm hitting MS only...

I started with Quarters, but it's never ending. I'm going to stick to Nickels.

When I started,it was every denomination of Canadian coins.I fast realized that to have a valuable collection,I had to concentrate on less but higher grade coins.I now only collect Canadian 1 cents and the Numismatic 50 cents that started in 1998. Regardless of what you collect, high grade coins are expensive and your budget will dictate what is feasable for you.Main goal,to have fun and enjoy.

I do it much the same cdcoinman, but when I can't track down any 1c stuff I want, I look for VF-EF level key dates from the other denominations. Right now my side project is to put together a George V key date 25c set (1915, 1921, 1927) in VF to EF grades, with coins that have exceptional eye appeal. These are not "expensive" coins, but I've had a lot of fun searching for them (still haven't found my ideal 1921 yet).

I'm working on six sets of VF-EF George V 25c.1921,27 and 36 dots are very hard to find in these grades with appealing reverses,I think I'll be at this quest for quite a few more years yet.Good luck to you 1cent in your search for the ideal '21
