And then I've got another one for you!! Is this a missing clad layer on this 1967 no mint mark dime or PMD!? I am still trying to learn & I appreciate any advice or knowledge anyone can give me & greatly appreciate every bit!! Thank u again in advance!!

looks like environmental damage to me, probably buried for some time..
