I was excited! It's pretty nice, around PR65! I was just amazing to find a proof in a Brinks box of cents!

Thad

that truely is an amazing find in a cent box , not just because its a proof , but because it made it through the bags , sorter, and rolling machine at brinks without major damage to the mirrors and frosting on the devices .

EXACTLY! This speaks well for the design of the modern cent. The obverse rim hit indicates it did it's job! LOL

wd1040- in this case it is probably that a proof set was given to some kid who didn't get the concept of proofs and cracked the the set open in order to spend the coins. This happens quite often.

BadThad,

Definitely a nice find!

For most of the new folks to the forum ... the "you suck" exclamation is indeed a numismatic forum term of reverence. Cherry-pickers covet this moniker! I have bestowed it on numerous occassions, yet only received it once ... it was a glorious moment.

I use that term in person, but I shy away from it on forums because it's hard to get the same verbal tone across when writing.

I won't tell you "you suck". even with good intentions, too negative for me.
