As with many new people on this forum, I suppose it is because of COVID and too much time on my hands that I started to get interested in collecting coins again.
I say "again" as I did collect coins back in Europe when I was in middle school. My parents traveled all over the world (but mostly to Africa) and during summer we went on vacation all over Europe. Lots of opportunities to pick up coins!
However, when I went to college I stopped collecting and did away with my collection (no more interest, other things on my mind).
Today, my interest is in Guldens, French 20 Franc gold coins, and I started a 19th century type set (Littleton).
I had to get used to the ubiquitousness of "Liberty " though as in Europe it is mostly about "Kings and Queens" and heraldic emblems. But now I admire the artistry of a draped bust or
Peace dollar.
At the moment I have finished my first "row" in the type set: nickels. My focus next will be on two,
Three Cent pieces.
