Sometimes I order lots of world coins and in one of them had 2 of these in it. Any idea what it is? Looks like a dog tag to me but feels like a coin.

I didn't know there was a limit to the number of questions asked per day.

This looks like a metal art stamping blank. Maybe for a charm or some other type of jewelry. It could be used as a dog tag.

There are a number of companies that sell copper blanks in hundreds of shapes for people that do enameling which is the melting of glass powder on metal for those that may not know. Used for jewelry mainly dangles, earrings etc. also for awards and medals along with pins for hats etc. Like these

They have a tool that will punch two sizes of holes in them for dangles
I used them when I was making jewelry still have some in the shop. Also comes in geometric shapes and assorted sizes.

I'm thinking that it's probably mid 19th Century. The diameter might help us attribute the host coin. These sere pretty much common from the mid 1800s to just before the 1910s.
My example below is Napoleon III but otherwise undateable.

Thank you very much. The world coins I got in the lot were old so that makes sense. I will research that further. Thank you again.
