Why not have a separate thread for euros?

Good question. Anyone can start a new thread on Euros in the World Coin forum, but perhaps you were thinking of a sub-forum devoted to the Euro?
My opinion here is if we segment the world forum further by currency types, each subsection might get less visibility.
We could go further than just Euro coins, and create a lot of mini-forums that might lose a critical mass. But that's just one opinion.

I see that we have a section for Australian, British, and Canadian.

So far there are 18 countries with euros and more to come, meaning there are so many collectors, not only in europe but specially outside europe who collects and wants to collect euros. They can be attracted to this forum.

Right, and sometimes I wonder if even those dilute the energy level to the forums.
Take the Canadian forum as an example, where the activity comes and goes--or the UK section.
I wish we would get more participation by Canadians, yet I don't think a forum devoted to Canada makes much difference there.
The best reason to break out forums is when activity level and sheer volume of posts suggest a separate forum for practical reasons.
This is just my opinion of course, but I don't see currently see enough activity on Euro coins to separate the topic--but that's not my decision.

That's one opinion--of someone who collects older European coins. I'll let those with more experience/insight comment further.

Kurts post is pretty much right on , the forum did not start with all the sub forums, they were added as interest in those particular areas grew , and participation from the varing countries grew.

we have a world coin forum so that we can monitor the activity levels on coins and countries which are not independently represented ,if one rises to a level where its the majority of posts and activity levels dictate then a subforum is considered for that particular type of collector and coin.

I see the point and I agree also. But there is a saying "Build and they will come" I think I saw that in a movie, Kevin Costner

Well unfortunately that does not apply to forums. It's real easy for a forum to get what I call the "Starbucks Syndrome". Anyone else ever walk into Starbucks, look at the board for 10 minutes, and want to scream.....

"I just want a stinkin' cup of coffee!"

How would you like your coffee? with milk? Sugar? or why not a capucino or a frapucino, or you just want your usual black coffee with hot water?
