I found this penny today in the local grocery store parking lot, and said to myself this must be a sign....and it was!...Just thought I would post this because I was captivated at this terribly used penny and discovered that while it has obviously had a rough life, along with staining, and Planchet striations...it has a wonderful attention to detail. Examine the Memorial defined stairs, columns, and building decorative detail, and so much more.....she may not be anything....but, darn!!....she looks good!! Gave me something to smile about during these very uneasy times......Hope you all are doing fine, and staying safe. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by thrifty_nickel 11/16/2020 12:46 am

Okay folks....I can understand you not being as enthusiastic as I am about this artistic detail under the crud, but can someone please tell me when you say moved to the CCF...where is that specifically for me to find? Remember, I'm one of the rookies here asking for guidance while I learn. Please point me in the right direction to locate it, and thank you for your comments.

This topic was moved to another forum, which is where it is now as you read it. Nothing else for you to do or find. CCF is short for Coin Community Family. Coinfrog was just welcoming you to our community!

Thank you again for your feedback.....wasn't aware that it was moved as I was replying. I thought it was in another place that I had to go look for. That said, is there something I should do with this penny, keep and mark it a certain way for example? Please note this is all still relatively new to me, so I'm looking for feedback for the way ahead to perhaps not only guide me this time, but create the foundation for how to do this in the future. Please reply when possible. Thank you.

@jbuck Thank you again for the feedback. So, I have the cardholders. Does your response imply that it's a keeper that might be worth move than face value? if so, how do I figure that out, and what would be the best way to notate what was discovered of the coin on the cardboard itself? Thank you again for your help.

It is a keeper if you are making a set, but not if your goal is to sell it. I will add that if you are building a set, then a Dansco, Whitman, or similar album is a good choice as well. Quote: what would be the best way to notate what was discovered of the coin on the cardboard itself? I use a fine point Sharpie on the holder to add information. Anything more than date, mint, and type would go on the back. But your taste may vary.

FANTASTIC! I was planning to make a set....not interested in selling anything at this point. I sincerely appreciate your feedback and will follow it to the letter. Thank you very much.
