I've been away from the hobby for more than half my life. When I left to do other things, third party grading was in its infancy; focus on varieties was very limited.

Pictured is what I've learned is a 1972D Type H reverse Washington quarter (RDV-006). For any who do not know, but would care to know what I've recently learned, this means the reverse was struck using a retired proof die. The proof marker is shown in the last image. A business die will not extend the leaf above the arrowhead.

Now, my question for the experts: I'm exhausted trying to find a value for this. If it exceeds $150.00, it should be slabbed. If not I think it should not. Please advise.

Kevin

Hello Kcm

This is not a 1972D RDV-008.
The leaf does NOT extend north of the arrow tips and the space between the "E" and "S" in STATES is small.

With gratitude, levelsofmadnes, I accept your guidance. I did, indeed, land upon the wrong Reverse Die Variety. In my edit above you will see my correction. My central quest for financial guidance, however, goes on.
