Quote: No doubt a proof. Hey Thad, would Verdi-something help that spot on the lapel?
No it would not, that's a permanent carbon spot....at least from the pic. I generally don't recommend VERDI-CARE™ on proofs, but it's probably fine.....I just have not tested it. I'm really wondering if it works on hazy proofs.

Just got finished sorting a box for copper, that I got from work. Here are the results: Cu% about 22% 18 2009's (most I have found in one box so far) 8 wheats (all common): 42, 44, 46D, 51D, 53D, 54D, 55D, 58D. Alot of D mints Not a great box by any means, hopefully do better next time! Need CWR's! I had fun though, now I'm tired. lol

Jim - Being OCD, I count every roll when searching. For the most part, the Brinks or String rolls are dead on. The CWR are hit or miss, although they are over as many times as they are under. I did have a Brinks box a few weeks ago that was off by about $.25. At least half the rolls were short. Good thing I wasn't searching halves.

Quote: I did have a Brinks box a few weeks ago that was off by about $.25. At least half the rolls were short. One of my kids works for CVS drugstore. He mentioned to me that the store doesn't count their change anymore...they weigh it. It's faster. This could be one explaination for the short rolls in bank boxes. If there happen to be more copper than zinc, my guess is that the rolls would be short. I'm guessing that BofA does the same thing. I've been buying brinks boxes from them for almost a year now, and dumping back into the same bank. They provide me with free bags...and I don't have to roll the coins I return. I search $50 worth...tossing the ones I don't want into the bag. When all is said and done, I count the ones I've kept and either subtract that amount from the total...or add that amount back into the bag from my stash of culls. I've never once been found at fault for miscounting...

Pulled a G-grade 1919 D from a box last night,20 total wheats from this box,way better than I have had in a while. Also, pulled 1 shield cent. This box has yielded 28% copper. I have another box I got at the same time so I hope it is as good.

Ok this isn't exactly a Lincoln find, but I found it while dumping my cent bag at my CU. At first I though "awe cool!". Then I looked more closely and thought "holy cow!" This was in the return slot long with a canadian quarter.

I searched a Brinks box of very sticky and gross looking cents and came away with 13 wheats. Nothing special - just 40s and 50s.

I've just got today my first box out of my bank but to my surprise they told me that they will give me one box but I can't get anymore in the future because they keep them for those with business accounts. Good thing is that my brother have business account in the same bank and he lives close to me. But I was wondering if you guys need business accounts in your banks to pick up boxes of cents ?

My bank doesn't require a business account. But they do ask that I call a couple days before I come in to let them know that I want a box.

Nice score there chuckster, I need to start paying attention to those and get myself a Cherry Pickers Guide. I picked up 10 Brinks plastic rolls and lunch and only had a 1955 wheatie. Interestingly enough I've had about 8 1955s in the past couple of weeks. None DDO unforutunately!
