Hi all,

Been away for a few days helping my father in law on his farm. He had open heart surgery a few months ago and I try and help him as much as I can. Someone was wondering where I had been.

I love those 1867-1967 Centennial coins. The artist, Alex Colville, who designed the reverses for the Centennial, just turned 90 years old in August. He was also an amazing war artist in WW2 and is one of Canada's favorite artists. Those animal designs are wonderful, aren't they? We still sometimes find them in change, mostly nickels and cents.

I think there is a doubled date variety of the Dove cent ;)

Whoa! Nice find Scotty!

That 1886 IHC is a Type II to boot, which is more rare than a Type I.

Thanks!

Thumbing through my RedBook, I've learned that this 1886 is a Variety 2...

Just goes to show that you actually can teach an old dog some new tricks eh?
