Not from a roll, but I found a 40S in VF in the coin counter this morning. I think that's my oldest wheat found loose.

started going through a box last night
half way done and 4 40's and 50's wheats only
I HATE BOXES
the only reason I do them is hope of filling holes through searching mass numbers of pennies
will finish the box later tonight

I know what you mean Slash. While doing it it's "what am I doing?!" and then when I'm done it's "I need another box!" It's crazy but I like it!

I can't get enough pennies either.Picked up $150 in pennies last night that has been in a family for years. They were going to cash them in and I was able to buy them. So far nothing great but there are lots of red cents in the 60's 70's and even a couple from the 50's. Problem is that I can't stop searching even though I know there are things around here that need done.Being retired, I can tell myself there's always tomorrow, but I don't know if that's a good thing.

Doning our trench coats and turning up our collars as we move from bank to bank, incognito. Sweet upon our brow, trembling hands in anticipation of that one rarity to fill that last hole, the DDO of our dreams that fine bright shiney 74's this is our life -- the roll hunter.

Last box was the copper hoard that apparently was dumped. 39 wheats, all 1940 and 50s. Did not count but would guess that there was less than $1 of zincs.

Started the second box from that bank and it is the same.

There was a great find though, from this box, a 1960 small date from circulation. My first ever. I know that coppercoins states that he has never found one. Not worth two but still a nice find.

Jim
