Went to the bank 3 days ago and asked for a $50 bag...the teller kind of apologized and said the bag had a lot of "dirty" pennies in it. Thought that it might be a good one...was hoping anyway. It was pretty good.......

Totals:

Copper.....1648 = 32.96% wowza
1982....... 215 = whata pain
Wheats..... 26 = good amount --- pre-1940's = 1927, 1936, 1937.
Canadian... 7 = little less than normal...oldest 1962
S.......... 12 = normal
and........ drum roll please...

as stated earlier, my 4th IHC......1865. Looks like crap but hey, if you were around when Lincoln was , wouldn't you look bad too?

I will DEFINATELY take another "dirty" bag!!

So if the percentage is somewhat true that the '82 pennies are 75% copper and adding it all up ....

Copper with the wheaties and all would be around 200 more cents

Copper would be roughly 37%

Hey,

This is a fun board. I must tell... went to bank some weeks ago and an elderly man recently passed on and his family brought >200 USD FV LM rolled apparently before 1982 (some) and the ogthers in 1984... over all over 90% copper (no or very few wheats, however)... some UNC rolls of 1981 and many UNC condition 60s and 70s... I'm pretty new to the penny sorting operation an mostly only sorting copper... I will explore this sight, but does anyone have any advice? I am sorting the red coppers from the brown coppers... found a few highly lustrous (looked just out of the mint) 50s wheats a few weeks back... if I could get the 1958 graded, it may be worth something! What does grading cost?

regards,
sgd

Box 13

Wheats (6)
41
44S
45D
46
46D
56
Canadian (6)

Box 14

also had a little fun with these two oddities and a possible 1960D rpm in the errors & varieties thread.

Not sure how these blobs got there. (on the O, the Li, back of neck and back of head)

and this 1988D with the FG wiped out so I can't tell if it's 89 reverse, but the cut went under the letters so pretty cool none the less.

Hoping to get a couple boxes with variety this time. I got 4 boxes Friday and two were BU 2009 Formative years and 2 were BU 2011. I want a variety to search through and I was to lazy to look for the DDR on the Formative years. I looked through like 10 rolls and it was to tiring.

You can always get it graded if you want but unless it's in MS 69 or something it probably won't be worth the expense.

24.64 percent copper
Canadian x4 oldest 1951

And a number of REALLY nice 1960's of which I will post a couple, basic grading would be appreciated as I am new to grades. I will try to upload them in order of obverse then reverse for each

Amazing WAM count! On the west coast I've done 30 boxes and found 1 WAM. The lone 1998 WAM. It is really rare for me to even find any philly mint 98, 99, 00 cents, let alone wide americas. but hey, over here we have a better chance at finding the CAM's!
