Wow, that's a lot of wheats, I'm the opposite, I love wheats, and put them all into the round plastic tubes. What do you search cents for? copper bullion, a nice find like an IHC every now and then?
good luck with the rest of that bag!

I separate them out into different year ranges. I keep the wheat's separate, all foreign, all pre 1982 (copper), all post 1981 with major errors in any condition, and all post 1981 in AU or better. I went to Lowe's and pick up a small 30 bin storage compartment. I have each bin marked a different year. I deposit each AU/BU coin into it's bin. When I have several for a year, I review the errors listed on the Internet for that year. I then look at those coins for possible errors with a stereo microscope. I find a lot minor doubles that are not listed on the websites. I just keep them in rolls. Any error that is listed on a website I place in cardboard 2X2.

Thanks for the information on the Wide AM. I will have to start looking through the rolls that I already have.

On May 8, I found my first 1999 Wide AM (see previous post with pics). On May 10, I found my fourth 2000 Wide AM. Today, I found my second 1999 Wide AM. Not bad for three days.

I usually buy a box a week, I usually find 4 or 5 wheats. This week I found two 1950-S, one 1954-D and one 1939 all in EF condition.

I picked up the 2 folder for the Canadian small cents yesterday so that I can build my "Canadian small cents from U.S. bank rolls" collection. I have 10 so far, and my oldest is 1968. I think the 1920 (first year) may prove challenging!

I found 2 1953 S today in bank rolls. One was AU. I also found my first 2 Log Cabin cents. They are flawless! None of the spotting etc. that others have reported. I also found half a dozen other wheat pennies common date.

Today I picked up $50 in customer rolls, and that yielded 50 rolls of 99.9% BU copper. The .1% was the 1913 wheat, my oldest wheat to date. Honestly, 4,999 BU copper pennies, most from the 70's. The wierd thing was that it was about 1/4th 80's 1/2 70's and 1/4 60's.... I'm gonna go in tomorrow and get all they have so maybe I can score a couple decades of BU wheats
oh and when I say BU I mean pretty much MS, but maybe one or two little contact marks.

What's wrong with finding a gem zinc? I'd add that to my homemade roll set!
