Cool Lincoln Roll Finds (From Bank Rolls) - Post Yours!

I just recently started roll searching again and I'm into my third box. This box is a Brinks box it looks like probably 95 percent or more is 2013 shield cents but you can see like on or two older cent per roll any suggestions on what I should do will it ruin its value if I open it and re-roll the 2013 cents?

Thanks wheatchaser I will run through them and see if I can pull at least something out of those rolls and just rewrap the rest and probably hang on to them. Hopefully I find something it looks like one old coin per roll the rest look like new 2013's. I was also wondering how good these zincs that people hang onto are it looks like everyone I look at has a blemmish, spots, or if you look at it with the loop you can see obvious wear how many zinc keepers do people find per box?

If not, I guess it means that this is happening elsewhere.

These kind of boxes made me rethink what I thought were solid rolls of brand new coins. Just because all enders were brand new, I found that it does not mean that all 2500 cents in the box are. When I dumped several 'new' boxes, I learned that there could be old cents in there, sometimes as few as 20 to 30 per box.

Unfortunately, those boxes are not fun for me, and I say that you should either just dump them, or try to trade the unopened box to a bank for a different one. That might be a hassle, so you might just have to suck it up, dump it, and try again.

Boxes like that are terrible, dont let them get you down. If you get the type of box that has holes in it where you can peek in, tell your tellers to look into the box for you while in the vault. explain that they can look and see. Cents are the easiest to tell if it is solid brand new or not. That is the only kind of box I see, the kind with 50 holes to inspect the rolls with while box is still sealed.

'Old' boxes on the other hand (good boxes, not 99% to 100% brand new)... 72 wheats in the last 5 'old' boxes, with an average of 11.84 wheats per box this year, when box was not a wheat skunk.

Train your tellers, it pays off so well.

Generally, this is true. However, if you're able to find a 2013 in 67 or higher and get it into a PCGS slab, it is worth good money.
