sa330206: Thanks for your useful information on the wheats. That is exactly what I did too, kept a roll of the 2015s (did this with dimes too). I might have kept more but I'm not at a permanent residence so decided not to start building up too much weight.

That's a crap ton of 2009s

You are exactly right Rackster. S mints are very hard to come by around me.

I decided to pick through some more rolls I had sitting around today. Fell back to reality with the 2009's this time around!

~60 rolls
19 Wheats (again, all 40's and 50's P/D mints. 2 were cull. Really wish I could find older wheats or atleast some S mints!)
13 2009's (no presidencys)
22 Canadians (1 cull)
9 LMC S Mints
3 clad dimes
1 Bermuda one cent (first one of these I've found, think it was 1988 and had a pig on the back)

I got $5 CWR cents this weekend and they were pretty much all copper Memorials (except for 35 cents worth of 1982s).

I guess someone got tired of hoarding copper cents recently. I'm holding on to them for the moment to decide if I want to start saving them again.

3/23/15 Results -

I finished $25 in CWRs last night. While it didn't look very promising for older coinage (LWCs, Georgie's, etc.) I was pleased with the number of dates with numbers of AU/BU coins. When I see this, I'm actually excited to look through the lot/box looking for higher grade variety specimens. And this CRH event turned out just fine - in all aspects! I'll update this post once I've picked out a couple fun finds to take pictures of.

LWCs - 12 including a couple S mint (good for me being in Connecticut) '41S (Large S) and '50S (RB); oldest 1939
LMCs - a nice mix of AU/BU specimens! I figure there are around 50 Zincolns and perhaps 12-15 Coppers I'm keeping
Error/Variety - I found a number of 2005 DDRs, all of which look to be unlisted at Coppercoins, so perhaps too minor to warrant a great deal of interest. But I'm pleased with them, so they'll find a home with me for the time being. I also found two listed Trail cents and a 1962 DDO (perhaps -026?). I also found around 25 other error/variety coins (clashes, maybe an RDV, and interesting cracks). So more research to do there.
Foreign - All Canadian again, but around 12 or so (1974 or later).
S Mint - 4 including a 1968S (not as common as the others)
2009s - 6 this time through which is a pretty good count

As we noted a week or two ago, it can be a bummer when you get a box outside of your core interest. Having broader interests in collecting help reduce the sad events. Not much can be done if you get a solid box of 2014s or 2015s, but even then, some members find ways to make lemonade out of those instances too. So if you get an odd box, maybe it's time to expand the hobby/interest and find something you'd like to share! Happy hunting folks!!

Yes, lower mintages and increased value. On the East Coast, they are much harder to find than Canadian cents (usually a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio in my state). S mint nickels are easier, but also an uncommon find. West Coasters enjoy multiple S mint coinage in each roll. A fellow member here finds as many in a single roll as I might in a single box on a good day.

Looks like someone dumped a part of an LWC hoard and you got the rolls. Nice pickup from your bank!

I plowed through another box yesterday but it was pretty blah. Here's the take: Two (2) Canadians (1965 & 1989) and seven (7) Wheats (1944, 1945, 1946, 1952-D, 1953-D, 1955 in XF, 1956-D. No varieties. No BU copper LMR's. No interesting errors or varieties. A boring box. I rolled and disposed of the throwbacks today and bought a fresh box. Sure hope it yields more interesting coins.

Pulled a '27-S Wheatie in Good condition and a '73 Canadian from one of the rolls of my "Daily Dollars Worth" of cents.
