CambriaMarket Valued Member United States 55 Posts	Posted 01/26/2019 12:55 am When I was home for the holidays I picked up two new penny additions. First, 1943 Steel penny my dad found in his pocket change! Second, an 1874 IHC that my wife's Grandpa had collected. My question, the IHC cent has green build-up on it and the steel cent has an orange spot on Lincoln's nose. Should I attempt to remove these through an acetone bath? I also saw that I could try Verdi care on them. Or just leave them alone. Thoughts? Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff
ty88ty2 Pillar of the Community United States 772 Posts	Posted 01/26/2019 1:14 pm The steel cent is rusted and acetone will likely not improve it. The 1874 is suffering from verdigris corrosion that has eaten into the coin. I recommended a few soaks in Verdi-Care and then using a q-tip to tap at the verdigris. Report this Post to the Staff

Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 75806 Posts	Posted 02/01/2019 12:13 am I found 10 Wheat Cents, 18 Canadian Cents, and one counterstamped cent this week, along with 7 Doubled Dies that I found in the box. grime5 Pillar of the Community United States 811 Posts	Posted 02/09/2019 2:43 pm the girls at the bank where I get my dimes opened up a box of pennies tuesday and saw a lot of wheats and know I love them.they opened up 10.00 worth and found 93 so I bought the other 10.00 and got about 35 more.the other 10 rolls had wheats on the end so dont know how many are in those rolls.i dont open them.went back friday they opened another fed box and saw more wheats they found me 120 in the ones they opened and I bought the rest got 80 more plus 12 rolls with wheats on the end I didnt open.3 rolls had wheats on both ends.one roll I opened had 38 wheats in it.now I haved saved up 140 rolls with wheats on the end.saving them for the grandbabies to open some day Report this Post to the Staff

I was recently received a 1919 LWC in my change and it got me back into the hobby and boy am I glad! I went to my local bank and bought $50 worth I found a total of 22 Wheaties.
