Hello everyone. Hope you are well. Going through my huge assortment of coins saved over the year, when I stumbled across a 1982-D Lincoln Small Date Zinc Penny. I originally thought it was copper/bronze, but the weight isn't correct. It only weighs 2.54g, where the other one weighs 3.11. But, per all of the respected references (including CCF), all the rest of it matches for a Small Date 1982-D, so I thought I would share it with you.

Feedback is always welcome......still learning..

Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback. Keeper? Maybe for a collection for the 1982 series? I mean, it's not worth a lot on it's own from what I can tell. Thoughts please?

Oh, there was one other thing.....sorry, forgot to mention it. While doing my research on the small dat zinc, I noticed that there were some that were slightly stamped off. You can see it on my OBV that the edge is small at the bottom, and wide at the top. By textbook, example, this is accurate, and the REV is stamped normal. Thoughts about that also?

Just a slight die mis-alignment. Does not affect value or condition.

It's a small date. These are common, most of the problem lies in finding one without gas bubbles, spots and other flaws. This one is highly worn, down to about XF...I would look for a mint state example as there are plenty out there. Good Luck!
