Picked this guy up at a local coin shop, nice owner, but he didn't remember the exact year of the coin. Can anyone tell me the year, denomination or any other info about this Persian coin? Thanks so much!

Well, looks like there is 1306 below the bust, and 1304 to the left ... so the question is which calendar system, whether it is commemorating something form the earlier date, etc.

Size and weight is always helpful, too.

The date shown on the coin, appears on obverse, on left side, next to the border, behind the head,
is the accession date, which is
1304, = 1925.
Note that Reza Shah's accession date is different to the Hejira date.**

Cannot say what the denomination is, because the weight and diameter not given. Could be KM#1104 2000 dinars 9.21 grams, or KM#1106 5000 Dinars 23.03 grams.

KM lists other dates for these types, minted in 1927, 1928 and 1929.

**AH1304 = 1886
