1980 S Dollar With DDO

The reverse and edge of this coin are near uncirculated, but sadly, the obverse is not. There appears to be doubling on the date, prominently on the 8, 0, and bottom of the 9. It is visible with the naked eye, and is clearly doubling under magnification. There is also possible doubling of the mintmark. Is this an established error, or a one off?
