When I was reading about Chad on Wikipedia I read below I tried to find the mentioned coin on internet but I couldn't find even a clue. It does not exist on World Coins Catalogue either.
In about 1804, under the rule of Sabun, the sultanate began to expand its power. A new trade route north was discovered, and Sabun outfitted royal caravans to take advantage of it. He began minting his own coinage and imported chain mail, firearms, and military advisers from North Africa.

I did searches like Sultan Sabun Coins, Wadai Sultanate coins, Ouaddai Kingdom Coins, Chad coins 1804, monnaie royaume du Ouaddaï but I couldn't find anything.

apeka, I'm curious as to the Chadian coinage you talking about? Could you kindly provide a photograph? I lived in Chad for a couple of years in the 1970s and I'm unaware of such early coinage. What I observed was that until the official issues in the 20th century, trade coinage such as Maria Theresa thalers were used.

I think @apeka is asking the same question as you are.
He says he found a reference to the coin, but cannot find an image of it.

Thanks, Tdziemia. Your explanation makes sense. Hopefully, someone can add some information because I'm unaware of the coinage the OP mentions; it's new to me. I'd certainly like to earn more.

Thanks @tdziemia, I realized I didn't clearly state my question. Yes I would like to have an image and any possible information about this pre-colonization coinage.

I did a brief search and found several sources claiming Suban minted his own coins but nothing with any actual meat on it. During Suban's rule Wadai was a Islamic state, so if they are marked(identifiable) they will likely have the sultan's name or the cities name on them, but I cannot find them. So maybe they are just listed as anonymous issues somewhere.
