I was wondering if someone knew what may have caused this type of damage on this Lincoln Memorial cent. Is this post mint damage or something else?

Definitely post mint damage ( PMD). We call this a "parking lot coin" as it probably spent time mixed in with gravel as found in parking lots. Totally damage, luckily still worth one cent.

It's PMD, parking lot damage to be specific.
