As I was finishing up my 1940's LWCs, I was fortunate enough to question this coin in my batch of '45 LWCs.
The class VI doubling is not as easy as some of the other classes when it comes to circulated coins and this one stood out just enough for me to question it. Luckily at least it had a mintmark as a marker. Had it been a P, I probably would not have bothered with it since the doubling is somewhat muted -- Not like some of the big 'paddles' that show on the 9 of other DDOs].
After zeroing in on a possible match on VarietyVista, I found one of two markers on the coin. - The lapel die crack. I often find, as in this case, that any forehead markers have usually worn away with time.
Sorry about the pics, the LED lighting is quite harsh. The coin also has some planchet flaws.
