This is one out of electrolysis this week. It has a nice reverse, but I can't make out the name on the obverse. Can anyone identify this emperor? Thanks!

Follis, I believe.

GENIO POP_VLI ROMANI reverse.

Perhaps IMP C M A MAXIMIANVS P F AVG for the obverse?

I agree with Bob L
Obverse is the product of a worn obverse die.

When I get these crusties that have been in the ground for centuries, there is often more corrosion on one side than the other. This one had heavier corrosion on the obverse.
