My 1980 US Nickel looks like it was offset stamped? Appears to only be on the front, not the back.

Your coin is a MDMAD

When the strike is off center just on one side of the coin it is a ** MAD, Misaligned Die **

We call it a MAD, since MD is used to mean Machine Doubling. MAD=Mis-Alinged Die
