Pretty unusual to find any of the major doubled dies in 1972 BU rolls, but last night I found three DDO-003 in a roll of toned coins. Not real nice ones, but they are all stage-G, the final stage before the die was retired. Apparently the dies clashed, were pulled and really scrubbed over, and re-deployed with entirely new die markers from stage-F. Then they gave up on them.

This late die stage is too mushy to be worth close ups.

Thanks! Always nice to find some strong ones in a roll.

Sam, I get my rolls from anywhere you might find rolls. Some ebay but that's far lower priority as many of those rolls have been sold and resold with folks potentially going through them. But in general I'm looking for big collections, and last week bought a lot of about 400 rolls off a guy. That's where these 1972's were and there are still hundreds of rolls to get through.
