I found this 10 Dinero coin on ebay. I collect these coins, but really wanted this because no one noticed that the coin value had been counter stamped with an E punched over the D. I have never, in my 25 years of collecting these coins , seen such an error. I checked all my references, and the internet, etc., but found no answers. Does anyone know of such a coin?

World coins dont get a lot of attention with these varieties, but It is a repunched date and repunched lettering.

Dont know about the coin but its a good one. I collect the world coin erros like this because theyre cheap, usually. Nice find

Heres a similar one if you're interested. Same D/E but the overdate looks different https://www.ebay.com/itm/PERU-Silve...303867243616

Yes, Kloc, The picture is a little fuzzy, but I can see the E over D. There were 4 die varieties of that same date coin. and yes, Dude, I'm sure the same die was used to strike all of that date's coins. BUT, I think the E over D is much more significant than the date variety. What I suppose I'm asking is, have any other dates been similarly affected? It seems to me date errors are somewhat common, but denomination errors are not common. There must be a reason that occurred. Btw, has anyone seen a Mexican peso, 1933 over 2?

I recently pulled my foreign error coins from 10+ years of storage and have to check my overdate examples of this denomination for any signs of repunched letters.

This time I have 2 digital microscopes with led screens that will make it easier for me to examine.

Now that I'm look at it I think it's a DI over FINO, as the I see spread on the top, as for the FINO, that appears on the reverse of the coin so plausible they got the letters mixed
