Not as spectacular as some of the other India doubled dies I've posted, but still a testament to the rigorous quality control at the mints in that enlightened nation. Looks like Class I doubling to me.

I've seen a couple like this on Facebook recently, and they have both been Hyderbad mint. Your coin is Mumbai, so that tells me now that the lack of quality control is not confined to one mint.

Now I just saw this coin on Facebook too. Looks like it might be you posting them under a different name.

It's true that I have a different user name on Facebook, and yes, I did post the coin there. So, sue me.

Interesting that India produces so many interesting doubled dies and other errors. Can't even attribute that to it being a Third World country. Other developing countries are not nearly so bountiful with error coins, with maybe the possible exception of Brazil.

Virginia used to have a slogan on their license plates reading, "Virginia Is For Lovers." Indian license plates read, "India Is For Error Collectors."

I have nearly 400 different Indian coins and can't recall seeing any errors, but then again, I don't actively look for them either as errors don't interest me that much.
