It looks like a Close AM to me. If it were a wide A M the M would be centered between the A and E. http://www.lincolncentcollection.co...0Close%20AM.

This is not a Wide AM. I actually posted a week or so ago a 1998 Wide AM I found that you can go back and look at. The pics turned out pretty good on my post and it shows what to look for on the Wide AM varieties. I will try to go back and post my link to this topic.

Was thinking that. White stuff on the coin had me second guessing. Thank you.

Wide AM on a 1998 but will be the same on a 99 or 2000.

The initials "FG", for Frank Gasparro, found on the right side of the memorial building is another indicator that can point the way. If the "FG" is near the building, the AM will be wide, but if the initials are further from the building, you have a Close AM. Just another tool you can use.

My last reply on this but hope it helps you in the future. Strictly referring to business strike WAM's. From my original post:

-There is a noticeable and equidistant space between the bottom of the legs of M in relation to the the A and E in AMERICA.
-The A in STATES is directly centered between the T's on a WAM. It is closer to the second T on a regular or Close AM.
-The designer's initials "FG" are positioned closer to the Memorial on a Wide AM than they are on a Close AM. Kind of backwards thinking but that's just the way it is.
