Do you ever look at something and ask yourself, why?
Coin shown here is a copy of a 20 centavos. I thought that it was brass, but no, it appears to be base metal gold plated. Gaps can be seen on the reeded edge with a non magnetic metal beneath. I might have thought that it was a silver 20 that had been plated but it's only 3 grams, 1 gram light. It's a good copy too, maybe .2 of a millimetre oversize.
So, why copy a silver coin and then gold plate it?
Sometimes, people are strange.

According to KM the weight is 3 grammes. It looks genuine to me. The silver percentage is only 0.400 so the coin would not look silvery is worn. Maybe it was gilded to be used as juwelery

Thanks eligius. I took my info from Numista which states 4 gr. KM takes so long to load on my laptop, but when I finally got it to open it confirmed KM# 151.3 @ 3 gr.
Another one crossed of the list.
