I plan on working on the 5 pages first, then if after I that I may decide to go for the Gold.

Aite, here is something that was suggested when I was starting out but did not adhere to and now feel that it could have been better dealt if the advice was followed.

My budget was 3000$ and I went overboard with the better grades on the cheaper coins. Got a holed and plugged version of the Seated Liberty dollar with motto because that was all that could be afforded at the time. Now am unable to find anything in reasonable pricing that excites me.

Fill in with whatever you currently have on hand. You could upgrade down the road at leisure. But getting the best samples and working backwards helps a lot - as in getting the tougher ones in good grades out of the way, first and foremost. It really does help a lot and finding the rest then become a lot easier.

Suggest to patiently shop around for the Seated Liberty dollars (with and without motto) and then splurge on the rest like the Trade dollar, Capped Bust/Seated Liberty Half Dollars, Half Cents, large cents, dimes etc.

There is no right method. Follow whatever best works for you.

Just my 2cents as always.

Cheers.

It's not a bad coin, low grade, but not bad.

very low grade at that... I was just looking around and found that very flat coin. I will be looking for a coin in just a bit better grade though...

Well, having 29 bids already with another two and a half days more to go should tell you that it is no joke. Suggest keeping tabs on it to see what final price it will fetch.

Most 7070 enthusiasts struggle at finding these two coins (with and without motto). Many have those slots empty and are in hopes of snagging a nice one at lowest possible price.

Good luck.

I would go for at least a Fine - VF grade, you will appreciate how it would balance out the rest of your coins in that page. Unless you're building a low grade set.

I think that will be my plan, As I go for this 'project' I really would like to have something nice to show off, not near blank silver rounds. I'm not made of money, so I'll be balancing act between really nice and mediocre.

Now That is a much better reason to not go with off brand pages! My OCD explanation just doesn't add up to that..

huh. I have an other order coming to me- a 1955 mint proof set. I see it too is now stuck in the same post office in Elk Grove. These orders came from different cities... one from Rockford and the other from Deerfield Ill. both pretty close together I see after looking at a map. (maps can be pretty useful sometimes) So they are stuck in Chicago for the time being.
