Hiya folks,

Yesterday we were at a flea market and in a box of coins and tokens, two for $1, we found this coin. I'm guessing that it's Roman and from the BC ages but I cannot find any similar pieces.

Thanks for any info! &&

A bit difficult to be absolutely certain, but a possible match is Theodosius II, CONCORDIA AVGG on reverse, mint Cyzicus, AD 401-403. RIC X 96 on Wildwinds here: https://www.wildwinds.com/coins/ric...us_II/t.html

Thanks for the identification!

1600+/- years old, that's impressive. It does prove, though, the first rule of antiques: just because it's old doesn't mean it's valuable. My little one, it was she who actually found it, said she's definitely keeping it since it's only worth five or so dollars (due to condition). She said she'd only be tempted to sell it if it was worth more than two hundred dollars. My little entrepreneur!
