This is something I have had for sometime. It was given to me and I have not been able to ID it. I believe it is from the Central American Republic due to the designs on the front and back but I can't be sure. Does anyone have any info that can help me in an ID?

The bottom image is not clear but I can tell you that it is a sun with rays to the left and its rays are shinning over/on a mountain. This design is consistent with other coins of the Central American Republic.

jetsetter- that appears to be an 1831 G 1/4 Real from the Central American Republic (KM #1). This coin is not particularly scarce as it is $6 in Fine. This may just be due to the picture as well as the low grade of the coin, but your coin doesn't look very much like silver.

I was taking the photos with a digital camera and a large magnification lens. Outside these photos the coin appears somewhat different. Thank you for the information.

If I recall correctly, the silver content of these CAR quarter-reales wasn't monitored as carefully as for the larger coins, with many genuine examples coming out looking decidedly brassy.
