Some of you asked to see the grades I got back on the 48 coins/tokens I sent to ANACS. Here the are.
In my opinion, some of the grades are off by two or more grades (e.g., they graded the Eisenhower 1$ as an MS-64. I think it is only an MS-62; they graded the Burma 1/4 pice as VF-25. I think it is at least a VF-35). In general, the modern US coins came back as about the same as I estimated, except for a few which were a number grade lower than I had. I didn't/still don't know how to grade/judge the coins that had "details" issues. I obviously have no experience identifying fakes (1858-O HD-not genuine, cast copy & 1775 British Farthing-not genuine, contemporary counterfeit). These two were in the collection I received from my great uncle, who passed away in 1954.
I'm interested in the "staff" experience and qualifications at ANACS ... I'm not happy with the grade consistency, it seems quite random and objective.
