This item was found in my Grandfather's possessions.
It has the look of a medal but it could possibly be a replica or item of memorabilia.

10p coin for size reference.

It's the Independent Order of Good Templars, a Temperance society with masonic roots that was founded in New York state somewhere round the 1850s. It spread to Europe, particularly Germany and the UK.
It subsequently became the International Order of Good Templars and is today known as Movendi International.
I would estimate that what is left of your jewel dates from around the 1880/90s
