Hello all, Any idea what the pink ink is on this note? Seems like someone took a highlighter to the corner, but why on earth would someone do that to an UNC note? Doesn't seem like an ink smear does it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all

Possibly ink from a tellers stamp pad

was thinking the same thing as Jimmy D, look at the bottom of the pink area and you can see what looks like the edge line of a stamp or block

Yes I see what you mean...hmmm...the only thing is the left portion of the ink stain isn't consistent with a stamp or block. Seems smudged

This kind of ink difference could be explained away by an error printing or an add on, in my opinion it does not affect enough of the note to justify grading fees, just chuck it on ebay and see what offers come.

Obviously an add on, either highlighter pen or ink pad. The color is a dead giveaway, they did not use pink ink during printing. When it comes to this kind of "error" that anyone can duplicate, so how can you throw it up on ebay and get someone to buy it? From the Charlton Paper Money Catalogue: "Some type of errors naturally lend themselves to fakery. The addition or removal of ink to simulate a genuine printing error can be accomplished."

Looks like an ink stain. Not something I would collect.
