Hi I have these two notes from Cuba and am wondering if they are real or fakes. The silver certificate has me wondering due to the perforation across the top and sides- were these printed and torn off like stamps?

The 50 peso note just looks too dang crisp and perfect .

Any clues I should look for?
Thanks!

From the pictures you posted, they look real to me. Just use a magnifying glass (loupe) & inspect the microprint & the guilloches (spiral patterns) from the engravings. These tiny intricate lines will not merge but stay parallel to each other & there may be surprise micro text like 50 or Fifty Pesos/ 10 or Ten Pesos or "Republica de Cuba" etc. Most fakes will have blurred lines & poorly defined micro-text (if any at all) & tend to be higher denominations (like 50 to 100 Pesos) so the 10 should be fine.

thank you for the information, I was not able to find any microprinting in the 50 peso note but the lines were all crisp and distinct under an eyepiece.

The 10 peso note was printed in perforated sheets. They are not particularly scarce and I am not aware of counterfeits or copies. You can still find entire sheets of them.

They are real.
The 10 pesos did have a perforated edge, so yes they were ripped apart.
Worth about $10

The 50 pesos is worth about $10-$20 unc
