There are not many 2 oz. Kookaburras floating around the U.S. today and the opportunity to just buy one outright at a fair price is far and few. Check them out on ebay and see what they are going for! Also keep in mind most of the larger coins are limited issue!

I couldn't resist the temptation and bought one @ $ 31 US ( about $ 36 cdn).I like it a lot.The thing is that this dealer had it listed on ebay but nobody was interested and I had no idea why, since I see the 1oz. ones are selling for $15-$17 US.I am very happy I bought it.I know it's not much (just bullion),but I really enjoy the design.A lot better than just a silver bar
Asking dealers around Toronto it seemed to me that people here are not into these coins, maybe that's why he sold it at this price.

You won't be sorry. The size of a two ounce Kookaburra is fantastic. A real coin! Some designs are better than others, according to tastes...What did you get a Proof or Specimen version? The Specimen version will have some "frosted finish" bits on it.

Hang on...2006... 2 ounce.....I didn't think that they had released the coin yet. Are you sure it's 2006? For a New release coin you got that at a very special bargain price.

I am pretty sure I got the specimen, not the proof version, acording to what I know about them. But I'm no professional.

It is a 2006.The whole face is frosted, except the two birds, which I have a hard time taking pictures off, because they are so shiny
The dealer had 3 coins like this.
I like this coin a lot,i'll keep my eyes open for more.
