1979 Washington quarter 5.79 grams.
The sides are like a normal copper clad coin.
Can this be a regular quarter within it's tolerance range or something greater ?

Quarters are supposed to avergae 5.76 grams. I can't imagine .03 grams extra puts it out of tolerance.

Clad quarters actually should weigh 5.67g. Here's a previous Topic on Clad quarter weights and the quarter in question also weighed 5.79 grams - how Ironic. Have a read.......

I believe tolerance for quarters is 3 grains, or .19 grams, so this would be within mint tolerance.
